Caroline Stewart and Timi Bates were the co-founders of the Hillsdale Farmers Market. In 2013, that market merged with the Copake Farmers Market, founded and managed by Roberta Roll, to become the Copake Hillsdale Farmers Market.
On June 2nd, 2016, they were honored via the presentation of a scholarship to a THS student who exemplifies the same love of agriculture, initiative and community service that has made the Farmers Market the success it is today.
The first recipient of this annual scholarship was Sara Williamson — pictured here with Market Manager Nicole — a student intern at the market, assisting the Manager, vendors and customers in a variety of ways, as well as helping with the Market Kids program.
It is our hope that this scholarship award will in some small way encourage Sara to continue on the path of civic mindedness and love of agriculture so ably demonstrated by Caroline Stewart and Timi Bates.
