The Copake Hillsdale Famers Market nestled in Roeliff Jansen Park’s green pasture, offers a warm and welcoming indoor-outdoor marketplace that abounds with fresh, healthful and locally-grown foods harvested in Copake, Hillsdale and surrounding areas.
Our market helps support the vital role of local farms and small businesses – the backbone of our rural communities. Each week our Harvest Barn comes alive with farm fresh produce such as seasonal fruits and vegetables, locally pressed cider, grass-fed meats, cheese, sausage and other charcuterie, pickles, pies, artisan breads, jellies and jams, prepared food, cut flowers, and much more.
In between the shopping, visitors meander through the Harvest Barn, mingle with friends and neighbors, catch up on local news and relax at our outdoor tables serenaded by local musicians.
Children are welcome! Our gifted and talented volunteers from the Roeliff Jansen Community Library can be found busy at work with arts and crafts, leading story times, nature crafts, games and other safe and structured activities. And adults with a green thumb appreciate the master gardeners who stop by and take questions on raised beds, flower beds, and the occasional weed or bug.
An emailed newsletter keeps our friends apprised of special events at the Barn – and featured items on the produce tables. Use the handy signup form on the right side of the page to subscribe, or email us to ask.
A volunteer organization and non-profit organization, we greatly appreciate any generous offer of help. See the Manager’s table for more information.
The Copake Hillsdale Farmers Market’s mission is to educate our community and visitors in regard to sustainable farming and healthy living; to promote local agriculture, healthy foods, environmentally sound practices, and local cultural events; to ensure consumer access to high-quality local food; and to raise awareness of the importance of sustainable farming and the benefits for the environment and mankind. We aim to accomplish these goals through the operation of our successful farmers market.
