Children’s Activities

Roe Jan Community Library is proud to be part of the Copake Hillsdale Farmers Market again in 2017! We are looking forward to bringing you Farm Market Kids each week from 10:00-12:00, with stories, crafts and activities for children, ages 2-10. We’ll share news of upcoming library events for children, and some weeks we’ll even be joined by Cookie the therapy dog! In addition to planned activities, we’ll usually have ‘extra’ activities on hand for older kids, like duct tape creations, a magnetic word board, and more.

Upcoming Farm Market Kids themes:

.July 29We won’t be at the Farmers Market today, but after shopping, visit the library for our drop-in Make It @ the Library! We’ll be doing 2D art with fusible beads.

Aug. 5–The Magic Lamp, a book by Deb Koffman, takes us on a magical journey of the imagination, and then we’ll make our imaginings take shape with clay! And Cookie the therapy dog will bevisit us too!

Aug. 12Yarrr Maties…ships ahoy as we sail the seven seas like pirates and make our very own treasure chests!

Aug. 19–“The blank page. It’s just a beginning” (from The Blank Page, by Deb Koffman). Let’s celebrate the promise of blank pages by creating our own books!

Aug. 26No Farm Market Kids today, but after you shop, visit Roe Jan Library at 10:30 for Build Better Magic with acclaimed magician Scott Jameson! See the show audiences are calling “Superb!”, “A blast!”, “Captivating” and “Heartwarming fun for the whole family.” Join magician and juggler Scott Jameson for an extraordinary performance that will have you laughing out loud and perched on the very edge of your seat!

Sept. 2It’s been a great summer, and this will be Roe Jan Library’s last visit to the Farmers Market for this year. Today we’ll remember all the wonderful things we did this summer…and then we’ll put those memories on paper with paint!
